SubTrans is a local video subtitle app. It lets you import video files you choose, generate subtitles using on-device speech recognition or video OCR, and, when supported by the system, request subtitle translation through Apple’s system translation capabilities. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed, how it is used, and how you can manage your data.

1. Information We May Process

When you use SubTrans, the app may process:

• Video files you actively choose to import, including their audio tracks.
• Subtitle text that is generated, edited, or exported.
• Project title, creation time, source language, target language, recognition mode, subtitle style, processing progress, and related project metadata.
• Membership entitlement status, product IDs, purchase results, and restore-purchase status.
• Audio files, OCR cache, exported files, and temporary files generated locally to support app features and performance.

2. How We Use This Information

The information above is used only to perform the features you actively request, including:

• Importing and saving selected videos.
• Extracting audio and generating original subtitles.
• Detecting burned-in subtitles in video frames and running OCR.
• Generating translated subtitles when system translation is available.
• Saving projects, restoring editing state, and showing processing progress.
• Exporting SRT subtitle files or subtitled videos.
• Verifying membership entitlement, restoring purchases, and displaying purchase status.
