CaptionStudio Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the CaptionStudio iOS app and its “CaptionStudio Live Captions” broadcast extension. The developer is the person or entity identified as the seller on CaptionStudio’s App Store product page, referred to in this policy as “the developer,” “we,” or “us.”

1. Privacy Principles

CaptionStudio is designed for on-device processing by default:

• No registration or account is required.
• The app contains no advertising or cross-app tracking.
• The app includes no third-party advertising, profiling, or analytics SDKs.
• The developer operates no cloud server that receives user audio, video, captions, or translations.
• Media, recordings, captions, meeting notes, translation history, and project settings are stored on the user’s device by default.

For the App Store privacy label, “collection” generally means transmitting data off the device so the developer or a third-party partner can access it beyond what is needed for a real-time request. CaptionStudio does not transmit the content above to the developer or a developer-controlled partner for such access. System data processed independently by Apple’s operating system and services is controlled by Apple and subject to Apple’s own privacy practices.

2. Information Processed on the Device

CaptionStudio may process the following information on the device to provide features the user chooses to use.

2.1 Media Selected by the User

• Video, audio, and file names explicitly selected through the system file or photo picker.
• Media duration, audio tracks, thumbnails, waveforms, and caption timing information.

CaptionStudio does not browse unselected files or the user’s complete photo library.
